Ballast Point
The Ballast Point neighborhood is an official City of Tampa neighborhood, which is mostly residential. The neighborhood is canopied by mature oak trees full of Spanish moss, and is nestled on the Hillsborough Bay. Ballast Point is bordered by Hillsborough Bay, a section of the larger Tampa Bay. Between Bayview and Wallcraft Ave. on MacDill Ave., there is a small district of bars, cafes and shops. This particular area is considered part of the expansion of the Palma Ceia Design District, even though it is outside of Palma Ceia's neighborhood's boundaries.
